The Si2 acoustic imagers for leak, partial discharge, and mechanical fault detection provide superior performance, with the ability to identify issues over longer distances, detect and measure with increased sensitivity, and produce a more accurate classification of issues.
Debuting March 5th, 2024, the Si2-Series advanced acoustic imagers are the result of collaborative efforts between industrial technology pioneers NL Acoustics and FLIR, a Teledyne Technologies company. The launch not only introduces market-leading acoustic cameras for air and gas leaks, partial discharge, and mechanical fault detection but also signifies a remarkable milestone for Finnish acoustic technology company NL Acoustics by being the first product to be launched following Teledyne Technologies’ majority interest acquisition of the company in July 2022. “The Si2-Series is the eagerly-awaited first product of our fruitful cooperation, in many ways a significant leap forward in acoustic imaging technology”, Kai Saksela, CEO of NL Acoustics describes. Rob Milner, Business Development Director, FLIR, shares Saksela’s views: “Increasing safety while avoiding costly failures is the aim of the new Si-Series. With the addition of three leading-edge models that scale up for professional use in a wide variety of situations, the new Si2-Series of cameras cement their position as the industry’s most complete, enterprise-ready solution.”
Market-Leading Acoustic Performance and Decision Support
Consisting of three next-generation acoustic imagers for different applications, the Si2-LD for leak and industrial gas detection and mechanical fault issues, the Si2-PD for partial discharge detection, and the Si2-Pro including all modes of operation, the Si2-Series represents the most advanced acoustic performance and decision support available on the market today. The Si2 acoustic cameras provide superior performance, with the ability to identify issues over longer distances, detect and measure with increased sensitivity, and produce more accurate classification of issues. CEO Saksela is pleased with the new capabilities and improved performance. “With the introduction of industrial gas quantification and mechanical fault detection we are able to provide a more comprehensive solution for predictive maintenance than ever before, enabling new industries to benefit from our work”, he concludes.
